During Beethoven's lifetime, a guitar cult of previously unknown proportions broke out in Vienna. The guitar found an ideal biotope in the new bourgeois culture of the early 19th century. Within just a few years, the guitar became a mass phenomenon and a fashion instrument - a real guitaromania took over the salons.

This DVD was recorded in the rotunda of Biebrich Castle in Wiesbaden.

The pomp of this era and the intimacy of the instrument in the same time shine on the recording in this unique setting!
